Whether you call it “Ambassadors Program,” “Champions Program,” or “Liaison Program,” it does the same critically vital thing - spread awareness and broaden the reach of corporate compliance and ethics program by using extra arms, legs, and ears, building effective C&E network, keeping employees engaged, and most importantly, how to ensure local “buy-in” from all locations, sharing ideas, and addressing issues that are of particular interest.

MHP Compliance Ambassadors are MHP employees assisting senior management in promoting an ethical culture based on shared core values within the organization. Although they liaise with full-time ethics practitioners, they are not part of the Compliance Office - working at different levels within a Company and often take up this role in addition to their day-to-day job. Their backgrounds can be diverse, but their responsibilities as Compliance Ambassadors tend to be similar to facilitate conversations on ethics and identify ways in which various parts of the business can work together, providing real impact.

To meet our long-term commitment of sharing best practices investing to the sustainable growth of the markets around MHP, we are working on MHP Compliance Ambassadors Program Best Practices Paper, a guidebook on how Ambassadors Programs work, to support efforts to plan and implement the Compliance Ambassadors (CA) Program or enhance an existing CA program while engaging with customers, suppliers, and other partners. The factors that could make it a successful addition to the organization’s arsenal of ethics change interventions are also proposed. In addition, the handbook outlines the responsibilities of ambassadors, defines the key skills they require, describes the training, competencies and theoretical knowledge needed in the ambassador role, and outlines how such a program can be instituted within the broader ethics management plan. We also provide some guidance on how to measure the success of the Program.
